We purchased Belmore Romeo H66 at the Belmore Inaugural Bull Sale on April 30th 2014. This young bull impressed us with his potential as a heifer bull and also his rich red coat, good top line and placid nature. Andy Withers described him as 'a lovely bull'.
Romeo was by the heifer specialist, Belmore Mikado C308, and out of a first calving " heifer. Mikado has not only been a successful heifer bull for the Withers but has also sired some of Belmore's best heifers.
On his maternal sire, Romeo is line bred to super sire, Belmore Jackeroo. His dam is by Jackeroo and his 3rd dam, Trevino Actress 104th, is also the dam of Jackeroo. Jackeroo has been a very successful sire in Australia with 400 progeny and also has progeny overseas.
Andy Withers described the Mikado progeny as having a 'super carcass' and Romeo has excellent carcase figures. With EMA in the top 10% of the breed, he also has above average rib and rump fats.
Romeo made a positive contribution to our main herds. He had above average $ indices and moderate growth figures.
