Belmore Supercool

Belmore Supercool J66

Belmore Supercool J66 presented as one of the feature lots at the second Annual Belmore Bull Sale of 2015. A beautiful soft roan, Supercool has an excellent set of EBVs. He combines above average growth figures with excellent carcase data with Retail Beef Yield in the top 15% as well as positive fat figures and EMA in the top 1%. Supercool also has moderate birth weight figures, large 45 cm testicles and a very placid temperament.

Supercool is also from a very strong maternal line. His dam, the Belmore Freight Liner daughter, Margie Z94, is the dam of two other sale bulls. These include Supercool’s full brother, Belmore Newmarket, owned by Des Farrell of Mount Roan Shorthorns, Tasmania. Newmarket was a showring Interbreed Supreme Champion at Wynyard but also a wonderful carcase sire. His sons Mount Roan Hercules H30 and Mount Roan Georgie G13 were champions at Westbury, Ulverstone and Burnie with Hercules winning Supreme Interbreed Bull at Launceston Royal in 2013. Another Newmarker son was Champion Prime Beef Steer in the Japanese Export class of the Southern Grassfed Classic, possibly Australia’s best grassfed competition. This steer achieved maximum score for Market Specifications.

Supercool’s sire, Belmore Jackaroo, has been a most successful sire, both in Australia and overseas. He has been used in some of Australia’s top studs, including Woolcott and Yamburgan. His son, Belmore Next G, was also successfully used in the Yamburgan herd with progeny selling well at the Yamburgan bull sales. Jackaroo has excellent EBVs, with excellent growth figures, low birth weight and is a trait leader for Milk, Carcase weight, Eye Muscle Area and Retail Beef Yield.

With the new IGS analysis, Supercool is equal first in the Shorthorn breed for Retail Yield.
