Carlton Hillview (P)
We purchased Carlton Hillview at the Belmore Shorthorns Inaugural Sale in April 2014. This young bull attracted much positive comment at the Sale for his softness, good top line and excellent hind quarter. He is also tight sheathed with well laid in shoulders.
Hillview also possesses excellent EBVs. He combines very moderate birthweight figures with extremely high IMF (top 1%) and positive fat figures. While possessing great presence, Hillview also appears to be a very placid bull.At Carlton, Hillview was considered the best bull of his year.

Hillview's dam, Carlton Lady Y77, has been a very useful cow in the Carlton herd. At 11 years old, she is still active in the herd and is the granddam of Carlton Heffner which also sold at the Belmore Sale. She is by Carlton Tommy who is one of Carlton's impact sires.
We were impressed with the Carlton Stud's philosophy that big is not always best. The Stud places emphasis on calving ease and aims to breed cattle which will thrive in both the inside and outside country. A bull like Carlton Hillview should do very well on the Riverina plains!
