This week, I have put the computer to work and analysed all the weaning weights for the 2012 calves. The calves were then ranked in terms of their weight ratios with adjustments made for age of cow and calf. We now know who were our best producers in 2012 (and our worst). Of course we need to keep in mind that the autumn calving cows were rearing their calves on good feed while the spring cows were rearing theirs on not much at all!
