Yamburgan Zeus H140 is a fine bull used heavily in the Yamburgan herd. He combines explosive growth with moderate birth weight, excellent carcass figures and large scrotal size. He also has positive fats.
Zeus is by the champion carcass sire, Yamburgan Zeus D79, whose progeny have won multiple feedlot trials. His dam is from one of the better Broughton Park families.
His first progeny sold very well in the 2015 Yamburgan Sale. His yearling son, Yamburgan Zeus K62, was the equal sale topper at $26,000. Another son, Yamburgan Zeus K25, brought the third highest price of $20,000. The 2015 Yamburgan Sale achieved the highest average of any Shorthorn Sale to that date.
We have been delighted with our Zeus H140 progeny. They had wonderful structures, lovely coats and have grown out very well. We sold a stud sire, Toogimbie Key Largo K36, into the Nero herd where he sired many Dubbo bulls and still has active descendants in the Ridley herds. Another bull, Toogimbie Kendra K22, was sold to the Huggins of Woodpark where he was thought very highly of.
We retained 2 Zeus bulls for our own use, K67 and K31, and they bred very well for us.
