Yamburgan Zeus H140 is a fine young bull used heavily in the Yamburgan herd. He has wonderful EBVs combining explosive growth with moderate birth weight and excellent carcass figures. Presently he is a trait leader for Gestation Length, 200 and 400 Day Weight and also Scrotal Size. He also has positive fats.
Zeus is by the champion carcass sire, Yamburgan Zeus D79, whose progeny have won multiple feedlot trials. His dam is from one of the better Broughton Park families.
His first progeny sold very well in the 2015 Yamburgan Sale. His yearling son, Yamburgan Zeus K62, was the equal sale topper at $26,000. Another son, Yamburgan Zeus K25, brought the third highest price of $20,000. The 2015 Yamburgan Sale achieved the highest average of any Shorthorn Sale to that date.
We have been delighted with our Zeus H140 progeny. They have wonderful structures, lovely coats and have grown out very well. We are presently using 2 in light joinings this spring. They are among the quietest bulls we have ever handled.
