FOR SALE: 28 EU STEERS ON AUCTIONSPLUS 24/7/2026

We will sell 28 excellent Shorthorn steers on July 24 on AuctionsPlus, Weaner & Yearling Sale.

They have an average weight of 362 kgs, after 3 hours off feed. Yard weaned, they are fully vaccinated with 5in1 and show excellent temperaments and structure. Their quality is similar to the earlier steers offered; they are simply younger and have shown excellent weight gain on a self sown barley crop, undersown with lucerne.

These steers present a great opportunity for the discerning buyer to take on. They have excellent temperaments and are in wonderful condition.

The steers have been drafted into two groups, based on weight. The first group comprises 32 feeder steers and the second 34. Their curfewed live weights range from 392 – 301 kgs. These are excellent weights for calves born as late as the end of August. The top steer has been putting on weight at more than 3 kgs daily. Bloodlines include Bayview, Belmore and Sprys. All their dams have been selected for marbling so there will be some extremely high marbling steers among them. There are 2 steers by JSF Manhattan and the top steer is a heifer’s calf by Narralda Ledger W55.

The photos illustrate their beautiful soft coats and good colours. They are 100% polled.

We currently have some excellent young high marbling bulls for sale which were used in the Toogimbie herd in the last season. There is a beautiful bull by Toogimbie Jesse James, Toogimbie Volvo V38, who is top 1% for marbling.

AUCTIONSPLUS EU HEIFERS AND STEERS 26 SEPTEMBER 2025: SOLD

This coming Friday we will sell 11 young steers and 12 heifers. They are 2 select groups of pure bred Shorthorn EU youngstock to be sold on AuctionsPlus. The heifers are also eligible for the Greenhams Never Ever intake. All are by registered Shorthorn sires out of Stud and ex Stud cows.

Their bloodlines include Sprys, Bayview, Belmore and Yamburgan blood. All animals are good doing and healthy, presenting an opportunity to acquire a one mark group. Yard weaned, all have received 2 doses of 7in1 for heifers and 5in1 for steers. They have been running on dryland lucerne and vetch. They are very quiet.

No new female blood has been introduced in 13 years. All females are scanned for carcass attributes and all cows must preg test positive and bring a satisfactory calf to weaning to remain in the herd. Our steers found ready acceptance into the JBS Thousand Guineas brand when it was operational and performed well in the feedlot.

One group of our last sale heifers were purchased on the recommendation of a previous buyer because last year’s sale heifers had performed so well.

Our herd is renowned for its fertility.

HEIFERS SOLD AT ECHUCA!

36 high quality shorthorn heifers sold at Echuca several years ago. These commercial heifers were 10 to 12 months old and were treated with Cydectin and given a 5 in 1 booster vax at weaning. They were by some of our top bulls including Futurity Kung Fu Panda, Sprys Dynamic, Sprys Emerald and Toogimbie Cardiff. Like all our cattle, they were quiet and well handled.

They presented an excellent opportunity for the discerning commercial buyer. Our own data shows that the Sprys Emerald progeny have tremendous growth to 200 day weight. Our bull, Marrington Attraction, was a trait leader for 200 day growth but our in herd data shows that the Emerald progeny in our herd had better early growth figures.

Recent blood tests conducted by the Deniliquin Veterinary Clinic has shown the selected sample of heifers and cows from our herd to be naive to pestivirus. This suggests that our herd is probably one of the 20% of Australian herds without active pestivirus. It means that you can buy our cattle and be confident that you are not buying a Persistently Infected animal.

STEERS SELL AT ECHUCA!

Repeat buyer, Ralph Whitburn, was delighted to have the opportunity to purchase some more of the easy doing Toogimbie steers. Ralph will grow these steers out to bullocks on his irrigated pasture. He has previously been very impressed with the temperament and class of the Toogimbie cattle.
